| Dodge unveiled the Ram SRT-10, which is capable of 0-to-60-mph acceleration times of 5.0 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 106 miles per hour in 12.9 seconds, which should leave that Ford Lightning in the proverbial dust. Injecting deadly venom into this pickup truck is the ultra-potent 2003 Viper's powerplant, an 8.3-liter V10 delivering 500 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of twist. The muscle is moderated by a six-speed manual transmission with a modified differential and new driveshaft to accommodate the extra brawn. | |
| This brio-filled truck rides on 24-inch wheels and 305/35 R24 tires; ride height is decreased by an inch and performance-tuned springs and shocks, as well as a rear sway bar. So outfitted, the SRT-10 is capable of pulling a sports car-like 0.92 G's on the skidpad. Peeping out from behind the wheels are fire engine red Viper brakes. | |
| Appearance is subtly distinguished from the regular Ram by the beefed-up fascia and hood with air scoop. In the rear, a hard tonneau cover, spoiler and dual exhausts are pretty much all that will be seen by fellow road warriors. Inside we found red accents on the seats, silver-faced gauges decorated with Viper graphics and chrome accents. | |
