| The M80 is Dodge's interpretation of the compact truck of the future. Built off a modified Dakota platform, the M80 uses an abundance of off-the-shelf parts that give it serious production feasibility.
| The engine is a 3.7-liter V6 tuned to produce 210 horsepower, while a standard four-wheel-drive transfer case and a five-speed manual transmission get the power to the ground. A simple independent front suspension and leaf spring solid axle show that this is no cobbled-together show car, although the 20-inch wheels probably wouldn't make it to production. A 5-foot cargo bed provides plenty of room for gear, and a flip-up rear window gives passengers easy access.
| Emphasizing rugged durability was the key to the interior. There's plenty of body-colored metal panels accented by satin-silver hard plastic covers. Water-repellent seat covers can take a beating, especially when the removable seats are taken outside. Simple analog gauges provide all pertinent information while rotary knobs take care of climate and radio controls.

| Review
| The Dodge M80 is a small, affordable truck with a design loaded with character and intrinsic value. Minimalist, new, neat design details are abundant as stand-out design elements include the satin-stainless steel-look signature Dodge crosshair grille and headlamp surrounds, classic round lamps and the metallic slate-gray, moulded-in-colour PET-plastic fenders and bumpers with integrated tow-hooks.
| Based on a Dodge Dakota frame with independent short-and-long-arm front suspension and a solid axle with leaf springs in the rear, M80 incorporates a high percentage of existing corporate components, making it affordable to build. Power comes from Chrysler Group's all-new 3.7-litre V-6 engine coupled to a carry-over five-speed manual transmission and 4x4 transfer case.
| With an estimated vehicle weight of just 1134 kilograms (2,500 pounds) and a power rating of 157 kW (210 bhp) and 319 Nm (235 lb.-ft.) of torque, this concept truck's calculated performance figures include a top speed of 160 kilometers (100 miles) per hour and a sprint to 100 kilometers per hour in just over eight seconds.
