| The M80 is Dodge's interpretation of the compact truck of the future. Built off a modified Dakota platform, the M80 uses an abundance of off-the-shelf parts that give it serious production feasibility. | |
| The engine is a 3.7-liter V6 tuned to produce 210 horsepower, while a standard four-wheel-drive transfer case and a five-speed manual transmission get the power to the ground. A simple independent front suspension and leaf spring solid axle show that this is no cobbled-together show car, although the 20-inch wheels probably wouldn't make it to production. A 5-foot cargo bed provides plenty of room for gear, and a flip-up rear window gives passengers easy access. | |
| Emphasizing rugged durability was the key to the interior. There's plenty of body-colored metal panels accented by satin-silver hard plastic covers. Water-repellent seat covers can take a beating, especially when the removable seats are taken outside. Simple analog gauges provide all pertinent information while rotary knobs take care of climate and radio controls. | |
